Before Nikki can recover Akane is on top of her, so she braces herself for a ground and pound assault. But it never comes… but this doesn’t seem to be a pin attempt either.
Aware that her lack of technical expertise would leave her near helpless in a grounded grappling situation, Nikki is desperate to regain a standing base, and tries to wriggle free of the larger woman. When this fails, she spits directly into Akane’s eyes, temporarily blinding her.
Nikki then takes the opportunity to scramble to her feet and climb up the nearest turnbuckle. She sneers down at Akane, as she rubs her eyes and slowly stands, and leaps toward her, attempting a meteora.
