The crater is formed in an explosion rather than being gouged out leaving a trace of impact direction.
All those craters are excavated by the explosive impact of a relatively tiny object.
Meteor Crater in Arizona is more than a kilometre across, yet the impactor was only about 50m. These are blast craters which is why they are circular.
