Like keeping some potassium iodide tablets on hand when russia was constantly spewing out small doses of radiation for example. It's very unlikely I'd need them but they cost next to nothing.
A tiny bit of paranoia never hurt anybody.
I just keep a little bit of the relevant things on hand, mostly things I'd be getting anyway which is kind of the point.
