I'd say at about from the year 2000 onwards the majority of top 10 best selling video games will be sequels. In fact, it was a lot worse. Here's 2007's top 10 sellers

5.) Super Mario Galaxy

8.) Guitar Hero 2 (Yes, this is not an error)

I don't like a single game here. This entire year was shit. Thank fucking god these awful times are over. I hated living through this.
