>>12157445well i don't think skosh is a loan word per se, just an english word with japanese roots since it's pronounced differently and has different meaning. kowtow i would argue is the same as kimono though, i don't know what you could possibly call it other than just a bow which doesn't really get the meaning across. you don't have any option other than to call it by the chinese name or explain the concept in english
never heard of any of these in my life
i've heard japanese to english textbooks are god awful though. english to japanese textbooks are usually written by japanese people and just printed/exported wherever, but apparently all the english textbooks used in japanese schools are written by japanese people that don't have a good grasp on english
