>>12901196I don't want to manage people and their stupid HR problems.
Management thinks managing people is the highest possible aspiration in life, but that's obviously a pretty biased and self-centered position.
I like managing projects and doing technical work and not having to put up with stupid whining about interoffice politics and other HR tier bullshit that I don't give any fucks about.
I don't have any desire to rise to the level of my incompetence and plateau at whatever point I'm not that great at the job so I will stop being promoted, but also the previous position I was actually good at has been filled. So I'm just get stuck in some place where I kind of suck at the job and end up being miserable just to have a more prestigious title when I retire.
I'd rather stick with a job I'm actually very good at and enjoy, even if management thinks it is less important than management, because of course they would think that. Everyone thinks the thing that they do is the most important. The only difference is they get to decide who gets paid what.
