>Dark souls 3so I'm guessing you've never played dark souls 1? because that game is a literal master piece. Dark souls 3 can barely hold a torch to it
Dark souls 1:
>complicated metroidvania interlocking level design in all but 3 areas (kiln of the first flame, lost izalith, demon ruins)>Unique interesting boss and mini-boss designs, that you will always look back on fondly (I still haven't forgotten that first channeler in the undead cathedral like it where yesterday)>unique concepts that made the game world feel actually alive>Beautifully put together character archs that tell stories and really lets you get to know the character>Secrets galoreDark souls 3
>linear world design that doesn't wrap into itself but more branches off from itself, ruining the magic of the originals metroidvania level design>Level design is very dumbed down. only a select few areas still have interesting level design (lothric castle+high wall, cathedral of the deep, irithylle, Archives)>Mini-bosses are generic 1v1's with slightly bigger dudes in armour. I know people complain about there only being dudes in armour in dark souls 2 boss list, but honestly dark souls 3 is even worse. there are only 2 bosses in the game that aren't humanoid that I can immediately think of, and only one of them in any good>feeds off concepts dark souls 1 did better, and ditches all of the good ideas dark souls 2 brought in>Character archs are generic. characters are for the most part 2 dimensional, only having one purpose to full fill. pay offs are underwhelming.>Only one secret
