as for the mood related symptoms, you're right that there are other therapy types that would help with that kinda stuff! i cant offer any practices for mania, but i can for depression. thats where the cognitive behavioral therapy stuff helped me.
i did this through journalling, to better gain a retrospective look into how im thinking. it calls for actively rewriting your thoughts into more open ended solutions or thinking rather than dead-ending myself and leaning into destructive thought. like, literally crossing out bad thoughts and replacing them with good ones. with practice, i began to catch myself real-time before i allowed myself to become overly miserable and self-destructive
all the practices i offered were to help manage and not cure, ofc. stuff like that stays with me and i still catch myself fumbling, so i still have to actively make sure im taking care of myself in those ways.
