Yeah, it's easy having blind faith in the state until they have to actually prove their competency.
I mean there's harm in overdosing on both of those. Vitamin d has a substantial safety margin though and high doses are unlikely to be a major problem for people unless you are eating clearly obscene amounts which would just waste it anyway. Vitamin c though can easily cause problems if you take an excessive amount of supplements.
I just noticed I was mixing up vitamin d and c earlier when I said it wasn't fat soluble. D is, c isn't.
