not way way back to the originals, but like in the middle of it's lifetime maybe
just assuming so because it happens with a bunch of stuff, they hit their prime at some point in the middle and then fall off forever
but at the very most its only better than what is out now, and still nothing actually worth ur time
i think at this point its just them trying to come up with the most eye-catching thing and nothing more really
i believe one of the more popular series right now is one where batman turns into a joker type or something and its the edgiest shit lol, basically every fanfiction where the good guy goes emo or something
but the "people" who like this shit think its really deep or something
so ya idk about the older stuff either but its probably more creative than that at least
which doesnt make it not boring
