Even if nukes are real, the blast radius and area of effect are so small that if you dropped a tsar bomb on two of the major cities in my state, I'd be perfectly fine. They're way overhyped because first worlders are softies who would rather rot for years in a nursing home then peacefully be removed from existence with a little kiss from the sun.
Also if you were to nuke the top cities of America, you would also fix most of it's problems
