If companies invested heavily into putting manufacturing jobs in Mexico and then exporting products up north it would benefit both the US and Mexico at the same time. Because that isn't done illegal immigration occurs and the Mexican who would have been just fine with $2/hour now demands $10/hour because the cost of living is batshit insane.
It's a big shame that only like 10-20% of white Americans speak Spanish and only a fraction of that speak it proficiently enough for it to be useful in the business world. If that number was higher then we wouldn't have to rely on the Chinese so much where as an English speaker it's next to impossible to learn Chinese.
Fun fact: there's thousands and thousands of cognates in Spanish so you basically already know 50% of the language by default
