They were both USMC veterans, both white, and my grandfather grew up in the 50s.
My grandfather told my dad that the 50s were the best of the best years, post WW2 and all of that nostalgic talk got my dad always reminding us kids that he "wanted to live in the 1950s"
The 1950s would have been really good for a white man apparently. But where we're at now . It's beyond saving I'm afraid.
I think this country is now fucked utterly fucked.
