Glad this thread is still up (unusual to find a GATE thread outside /x/, and even there it's rare these days because the flak is always heaviest directly over the target).
I've always had premonitions, precognitions, and accurately detailed dreams of things I would see days afterwards; the dreams in particular really threw me for a loop, causing a mild existential crisis when I was about six or seven years old as I tried to reconcile the ideas of free will & fate. (Pro-tip: it's both.) I've also always felt a strong connection with the natural world. I've found recently-dead small animals -- insects, birds, rodents -- picked them up, cupped my hands around them, breathed onto them, and BROUGHT THEM BACK TO LIFE. It doesn't always work....
Once, I felt compelled to suddenly leave my house and walk to a particular point half a mile away, where I sat on a rock and began meditating. As I watched the overcast sky above, a much darker column of thick cloud, like a pillar of smoke (Old Testament vibes) traveling horizontally across the sky directly overhead, crossing over my position maybe a hundred feet above. There was a presence. It continued its path, but it was very strange. I imagined it might've been a very unusual inter-front atmospheric convection, but that doesn't really hold water. Decades later, I would see something very, very similar in a Harry Potter film someone else was watching: a flying Death Eater (pic related).
Public education in general, and probably GATE in particular, fucked me up. I was detected early. My kindergarten teacher -- sweatest, oldest black lady you can imagine, whom I considered to be my "third grandma" (I'm white) -- died halfway through the year, and was replaced by the saltiest, wickedest, most vile fat jewess you can imagine... who was very similar in these ways to the jewesses who taught TAG & GATE in subsequent schools. She was patently unhappy, and ran the kindergarten like a gulag.
