Spammers have raided /bant/ in the past, and this particular instance was more severe than most because it took multiple days for a mod to come here. It's akin to /bant/'s June period where entire weeks could go without so much as a janitor, and a constant problem with /bant/ as a whole.
Furthermore, a large part of /bant/'s resolve is the fact that we aren't /pol/ and never will be. We saw what they did to /qa/ and swore it would never happen to us. And in the end, the autists were removed, so the waiting payed off.
