When I was a HS kid in the 1990s, there was a group of edgelords known as the "goths." They were the predecessors of the emo kids who came later. And they would ENDLESSLY scour vintage clothing stores to find period clothing that made them look like vampires and people from the Victorian era. As unfathomably gay as they were, they really believed in this little shtick and lived it and built their identities and communities around it.
So along came a company called "Hot Topic" to start mass-producing goth clothing. And they opened a store in every shopping mall across America. And suddenly, everybody ho wanted to could become a goth without doing any of the work or internalizing any of the silly ideals. It was as simple as swiping your card!
And this is what I see when I look at most 2nd Amendment people in the US. They're soft, harmless people with no grit who would rather die than actually fight for anything.
But they can go to the gun store like their own little "Hot Topic" and buy dozens of props to pose with and post pictures of on social media. If you didn't know any better, you would almost believe they were real patriots who were ready to die for a cause. But oh boy, would you be wrong...
