And you got this WAY wrong avout kazakhstan.
These Russian germans were "Russlanddeutsche" or "Donauschwaben", they were a gift to katherina the great when she was married off to russia they had to come with her so that some of her people would be with her in her new home. They lived around stalingrad, never mixed in with the russians and even kept their medieval german language going. Then they were forcefully resettled to kazalhstan so that they dont join up with the wehrmacht before the battle of stalingrad (germans diasporas in all of eatern europe had done so)
In the 1990s many of them came back to germany, still speaking medieval german and being very much "german" (also a diverse word btw) and for the most part they were treated as russians in germany just as they were treated as germans in russia. They were also treated as russians in kazakhstan by the kazakhs.
