The curvature of the Earth can be visible with the naked eye from high altitudes generally, it is estimated that the curvature of the Earth becomes slightly visible to the naked eye from an altitude of about 35,000 feet (10,668 meters) and above. However, from a height of 60,000 feet (18,288 meters) or higher, the curvature is much more pronounced and can be more easily seen.
It's worth noting that while the curvature of the Earth can be seen from high altitudes, it is not typically noticeable at lower altitudes, such as at the surface or from an airplane flying at a typical altitude of 30,000-40,000 feet.
The lowest altitude at which satellites orbit the Earth is typically between 99 to 1,200 kilometers (62 to 746 miles) above the Earth's surface.
Balloons are sometimes used for certain types of satellites called stratospheric balloons. These balloons are used for scientific research and experimentation, as well as for communication purposes. Stratospheric balloons are launched into the stratosphere, a layer of the Earth's atmosphere located between 10 to 50 kilometers (6 to 31 miles) above the Earth's surface. The balloons are filled with a lighter-than-air gas, such as helium or hydrogen, which enables them to float at high altitudes.
