As we kept expanding we found and colonized new planets for our people to settle on.
We eventually found a planet unlike any other, it was completely serene and all life seemed to live in harmony on it, it was also far bigger than any other life sustaining planet we'd seen up until then, truly a masterpiece of the divine.
Though as we explored the systems nearby we discovered more of these planets and eventually found another alien species, this one much more advanced and ancient than the filthy tiiraks.
They told us that the planets were in fact gifts from the divine (though they called it by a different name) and must under no circumstances be touched, lest they be met by them backed up with the power of the almighty one.
We agreed on this, the planets seemed too pure for mortal shells to touch, we decided to make them holy ourselves which seemed to please them, they became a sort of spiritual mentor to us after that.
After the confusion involving the discovery of life and sentient life our religious establishments were in turmoil, people started to question verse after verse and even questioned if it was at all real.
Soon after we discovered something odd, a temple in the shape of one of our own old religious sects was floating around in orbit around a star, we had no idea what it was doing there but some religious leaders demanded it be destroyed as it was clear heresy in their eyes.
We decided to study it however, what we found inside completely revolutionized what we thought of the divine and other spiritual matters, it was clear we had been lead astray and this was the true belief!
Everything seemed to make sense now! The divine was real and this more than proved it!
We met more and more species as we expanded, some friendly some not so, eventually one of the species we met that we thought were going to be troublemakers asked us to join in a war against the repugnant tiiraks, we of course accepted.
