Paul’s christ is a psychic figure revealed only through old testament scripture and revelation, as per Galatians. the Christ is a figure like Metatron or Michael or the Melchezidek, an archangelic being, and the crucifixion he speaks of did not happen in palestine somewhere, but rather, in the heavens (Paul speaks of being transposed to ‘the third heaven’ - this comes from revelatory jewish cosmology where the seventh heaven was the conceptual throne of god) of course the gospels were written much much later than these epistles and have no real historical relevance at all, and are mostly allegorical. mark 4 subtlety informs the reader of this. we think of heaven as like another dimension but back then the cosmology was, heaven is in the sky. Plato writes in the Timaeus the Logos was set at the center crosswise in the universe.
>For if He were on earth, He would not be a priest, since there are priests who offer the gifts according to the law.>They serve a copy and shadow of what is in heaven. For when Moses was about to erect the tent, he was instructed by God, saying, “See that you make everything according to the pattern that was shown to you on the mountain.”>Christ did not enter a sanctuary made with human hands that was only a copy of the true one; he entered heaven itself, now to appear for us in God’s presence. Nor did he enter heaven to offer himself again and again.>The high priest carries the blood of animals into the Most Holy Place as a sin offering, but the bodies are burned outside the camp>And so Jesus also suffered outside the gate to make the people holy through his own blood.>Let us, then, go to him outside the camp, bearing the disgrace he bore.>For here we do not have an enduring city, but we are looking for the city that is to come.this is a heavenly, transcendental event. where is “here”?
