Am I the only one who can't get into certain stories because of the lack or realism?
Example one: Zombie shit. The Walking Dead is the worst for this. They never had a concept of zombies.. so they just fail? Why is it that in any zombie film/game/whatever the military and government just shit the bed and are ineffective?
>A war against intelligent guerrilla fighters with tactics and weapons? Sure!
>A war against very slow walking enemies with no weapons to speak of, uh-oh!
Ironically, the only film to get it right is Shawn of the Dead. Zombies take over because of panic, for one fucking day, then the military does it's actual job.
Example two: a little more niche, but the manga Made in Abyss.
>"Look at this extremely dangerous hole in the earth that causes death and misery upon anyone that goes in. Let's go! Better yet, let's base our whole economy and culture around people going in, especially children, that sounds good!"
I understand individuals and scientists, but a whole society based around it? Fuck off. It's established that there's other countries in the world.. Why not just move there? Where it's safer? And there's no holes with monsters in?
Example three: Anything with vampires on. I feel Dracula gets this right, and Nosferatu, but everyone else fucks up big time.
>"Look at these soulless, evil undead creatures that feed off human beings, I know, let's making them fucking hot"
fuck that shit. Also, vampires can't have sex due to the lack of a heart beat, so the point of making them sexy and charming as fuck is?? What exactly?
anyone else got any examples of this?
