for example a flat earther will show pics of the moon next to the earth (while also pretending there are no pics of the earth from space) showing the moon at different sizes as proof its fake. this is a misunderstanding. you try to correct that with a simple diagram showing the effects of focal length and perspective but their cognitive dissonance kicks in and thats when an honest misunderstandings becomes simple stupidity
