That said, they also struggled for god on whole different level, and is not comparable to modern people who don't go to church and receive communion because of worldly concerns.
Go to church and don't care about what others think. Temples and churches have always been treated as social clubs, which betrays the purpose of those temples, but that doesn't mean you shouldn't partake in the church life and possibly lead by example.
