It's ARM based so 99% of malware out there will not run without the attacker specifically targeting the platform. I took it apart, enabled firmware writing, built u-boot from source for it, flashed it, loaded Linux-Libre on it (no closed source binary blobs), and I run everything from a 250gb micro SD card.
