baring filler episodes, movies and fan fiction. there is one singular vision of something like one piece or hunter x hunter. You can easily faithfully adapt a manga to a anime using the manga almost like a story board. western adaptions of comics are almost always different interpretations and don't retell the stories as faithfully as anime. because there isn't a singularly vision
western comics can go on for decades and become entirely things and sometimes that canvas for different interpretation can create something great. i don't know the cultural difference why this reason is.
