Also I don't think "uneducated" music is bad. For example I have been using I think what was called sigh motifs before I even knew what it was. And some musicians discovered tritone substitutions on their own. Some musicians only use their ears. It's really varied, but what all great musicians have in common is intution either being able to name it or thinking it up on the spot in a way.
