yeah. the more i listen the more i think it's just that they have really bad bass compared to my old headphones. of course they're wireless so this is to be expected to a degree but considering that they're also twice the cost i thought it might be close and it really just isn't.
the sound leakage is what really surprises me. considering that they're obviously intended for travel and the way the pads are designed they fit pretty snug around the ears i didn't think they'd leak at all, but that's also way worse than my old ones which weren't the greatest in the first place.
i think i'll get used to it and end up liking them more overall since as i established i'm pretty bad at picking quality apart in the first place and they aren't disgustingly bad in that department or anything, just worse than expected so once i'm no longer making a back to back comparison it should fade from my consciousness i think. the leakage thing is annoying but i'm less autistic about that stuff than i used to be so it also shouldn't be a big deal. the only real major thing that has me concerned is that they were advertised at 30 hours battery life or something similar and the manual seems to imply that it's a 3 hours battery life, but the manual's also pretty horrible so i wouldn't trust it.
on the bright side they seem pretty comfortable so far and the wireless bit does work fine. assuming i'm right about the problems fading to the background and the battery life is just the manual sucking i'll end up being pretty satisfied.
