For anyone here that is wondering about switching to linux it's really not that hard. Linux comes in a variety of flavours that all have their quirks but the biggest difference between them mostly is how free you are to customize and fuck up your shit vs how noob friendly it is
>Some easy examples would be https://pop.system76.com/https://ubuntu.com/downloadhttps://manjaro.org/Some of the more advanced versions i dont really have to point out since if you dont know it probably isn't the right pick for you
personally i really like Arch linux btw
As for gaming your linux install will come with a gui store which probably has steam and if not you'll be one google search away from telling you how to install steam on your choses distro
ProtonDB will tell you which games are supported since steam deck has come out it's been redubbed deck verified but that just means "runs on linux"
https://www.protondb.com/ The only issue you'll encounter is certain multiplayer games not working becuase they have root-kit anti-cheats or anti-cheats that refuse to run on linux. With the steam deck and growing audience on linux this will get more support in the future. Windos has always been shit just drop it.
