Little kitten gave me a scare by vomiting a lot and eating little while drinking nuts amounts of water so I had to go to an emergency vet due to it being Saturday. They put him on some anti nausea medicine for a few days and determined he was fine otherwise. HOWEVER. I now have a deep appreciation for my usual vet. Let's just say by the time I got my cuddlebug back he had screamed his little head off for 20 minutes like he was being butchered while I squirmed, when he was returned to me, he was shaking like I've never seen, literally baptized in antiseptic, and had a huge bandage around his leg.
I wanted to cry. I cradled my poor tortured treasure and kissed his head and apologized until he stopped shaking and ultimately fell asleep in my arms while we waited for the tests. I was also in a rage, but found comforting my fluff ball to be more important than acting on it. I need to give a little context here. His blood was last drawn 2 weeks ago when he was HALF this size, meaning even harder to draw blood from. I heard maybe one meow, there was a tiny spot of antiseptic on his fur, no bandage, no shaking. My god. My usual vet is basically a wizard compared to these urgent butchers. I'm going to compliment him on it when I get my other cat boosters in a week and tell him this horror story.
