Well i have read it, and i see that you have a fairly decent description and comparision of select works, but i dont think they are counterparts of eachother and i dont see how it is an evidence to "death of postmodernism"
lets talk about blurring art and pornography
It really is an illusion that traditional western art is "modest", of course i am not talking about cathedral paintings, i am talking about "individualist" paintings, the kind of paintings displayed at private houses, often depicting naked woman, these paintings fulfill the same role as those "anime girl images" in their own way, the women in these paintings are submissive, ready to be conquered, ready to recieve the lust of the man, they are there for that exact purpose
of course there are details worth discussing but so do the anime girl images
for example for traditional european art, flower often represents virginity and vagina, and is often held, ready to be given for the man
for example for anime, i think same vigirous reading can be done for school uniforms
furthermore, there are glaring differences as well, even though the serve the same purpose, they are concieved very very differently, western traditional art is, in a sense, simpler, being a copy of an original, with droplets of symbolism attached
"Anime art" is best explained by postmodern framework
"Anime art" is a copy of a copy of a copy... every layer some "real" aspects of what it is suppoused to represent is removed and something else is added to the point that it barely resembles the original and in fact, it does not try to be the original anymore, copy without and original, that is a simulacra
I got too bored at this point but you get the idea
