Regarding the topic from the last thread, my backup computer at the moment is a T400 Thinkpad and if I lean or slip 20deg, the TFT/IPS monitor is viewable but the glare is nasty. It's readable for text-only purposes, but I cannot imagine anyone with any sense of quality using this sort of thing.
I previously had a T60 (still have for scrap parts) and one time I rather amateurishly replaced the fluorescent bulb for it. I didn't bother glueing the reflector back into place properly and as a result it gave a really annoyingly unbalanced glow. That anecdote was what attracted me to your last thread, but I didn't bother mentioning it.
