They can be viewed as separate stories(i hope) that are just better in context. The time line itself has no emmm 'main story' if anything it resemblance world history or maybe something like Tolkien Legendarium. It has common stuff, some characters reappear but general tone is different every time(which isn't good since it has no focused audience. Someone that like sci-fi is going to like one segment and not the other)
>Does that make it more difficult to translate?It depends what is a base language. Translating from latin to english will have better results then to polish. Slavic languages have slightly different structure than latin ones but its not Japanese tier. I translated subs to one anime episode from english to polish and its not exactly difficult, tiring if anything.
