>>7167793The year is 1831 and Texas is part of Mexico. Now at this time it wasn't uncommon for settlements to be raided by the native Americans, so because of the the small area of Gonzales, Texas asked the Mexican government for a way to protect themselves. They where given a small cannon.
We skip are story to 1835 where some small Texan areas started feeling rebellious against the Mexican government. Because of this the government thought it was unwise to let the residence to have Gonzales to have this cannon and wanted it back. The Texans didn't the idea of that and told them to, "Come and take it."
And BOOM you have the start of the Texas Revolution. The residence made this flag as a sign of defiance and too this day this people will have this flag to show pride of there state and as a sign of Independence.
