Confution occurs because Spanish WORDS have gender. The gender of words is independent of the gender of the person.
The translator returns the gender of the word, grammatically speaking. It does not refer to the person's sexual choice.
It is often mistaken on purpose to introduce so-called gender ideology into the political agenda.
