humans are mathematical beings, we process things as if it's simple arithmetic
thing is that leads to oversimplification, as not even a single proton can be said to be identical to another proton (when you take in consideration imaginary quarks, gluon energy, momentum, spin, forces being exerted on it, mass (not rest mass, but that one too kind of) etc etc) so you'll never trully get two things that are equal to 1 so that 1+1=2; best you can do is close approximation, and that shit goes hard on levels of magnitude beyond 26; it's unfair, it's ingenuine, it leaveas a bad taste in the mouth but people are like that
goals on the rotating wheel, where it lands literally set by nothing but teeny tiny molecules of neurotransmitors that then change your structure of brain just a little bit and so it goes...
people's appreciation exists on a whim, a pure accident you can say, you can treat somebody no different than anybody else but in right time in right place you'll hear " you're working so hard, I'm proud of you"; after which you'll feel good, or you'll want to throw up or sonething else entirely
