Germans aren't Roman at all, Germanic tribes predate Rome.
Some Brits are Roman descended. London was a Roman city. But with all the Celtic interbreeding, and add that ontop of all the interbreeding that went on when y'all crossed the ocean, I really don't see a Roman connection significant of mention.
A lot of Americans have this hardon for Rome, and I feel like that's where this all comes from. Rome was fine, but it's overhyped. Egypt had a much longer and larger reign, ffs.
