>>16416889>i think they just dontyea not explicitly but i wonder how they present the villains' thought processes and plans without making them look completely retarded lol, since there are so many good strategies they could use
>nobody caresmakes sense, kinda sucks though, trick or treating os pretty fun, it's like irl lootboxes
>>16416951>why the fuck do the villains stay in gothamthat part is the least retarded to me, maybe gotham is the capital city, one of the most populous, one of the biggest commercial hubs, some combination of those or other notable attributes, so maybe for the shit they want to pull off gotham offers the biggest potential rewards. as for the fact that batman is there, that could also be part of gotham's allure, i imagine supervillainry is correlated with egotism so even if batman is renown for taking down bad guys they could think they're different and either batman won't be a problem or they'll be able to best him. the thing is that's true: he shouldn't be a problem for any even half-competent bad guy for all the reasons you mentioned. that makes me really curious though, how do batman stories deal with this? i wonder what the actual stories in the comics were, and even though i saw some of the live action batman movies i don't remember them that well, i think i'll rewatch them sometime.
also on the hostage thing, how do superheroes in general deal with that? it seems like an unbeatable tactic. "let me escape with the money or i'll kill these", i know there was some scene with a hospital in some batman movie, one of the dark knights i think but i can't recall the details, my feeling is superhero writing isn't 100% completely retarded or contrived, i feel like there must be something i'm missing that makes the hostage tactic not an instawin every time
