The reason these communist revolutions always produced 1-party-totalitarian regimes is because this is a necessity regardless of the means of enslaving the peasants. Without this all-powerful state, there is nothing to redirect the peasants unto the most legitimate forms of labor that empower the "nation" if you really hate the state.
