>>523650All hilarity aside, the "emu thing" is an extension of a far-larger problem, one that's been evolving over approximately the last twenty years. The continuing emasculation of Australian men.
About twenty years ago this man, a schizophrenic surfer with a confirmed IQ of 65, went on a rampage in the small town of Port Arthur and murdered 35 people, wounding another 70. As a consequence, the Howard Government stripped Australians of many rights to own firearms, under the guise of a "gun buy-back scheme". With this out of the way (you could do well to learn from our history, America - never EVER surrender your arms) the government and subsequent governments, both Liberal and Labor, have been eroding Australians' rights since 1996.
The emu problem is but another example of this - farmers who've had to struggle through some of the worst droughts that humanity has ever known, face emus in overwhelming numbers and not nearly enough firepower to actually deal with the problem.
The moral? Don't believe a damn thing about what your media tells you, America.
