>>8137022yes. throught the manga when guts is talking to the old witch lady, she explains that tbe behelit will always find its way back to the person who it was given to. this would mean that if griffith had abandoned the behelit in favor of his friends, it would come back to tempt him in the future. also, i feel like griffiths "dream" is what he wants most out of everything in the series. it is the reason that he set up the band of the hawk in the first place, to establish a new meaning and become king, whatever the cost may be. if the behelit could give him that title instantly at the cost of his comrades, what was he really doing differently than what he was risking before?
