>>8580746i'm up to episode 5 of the expanse now. it's really kind of shitty, like everything about it. the acting, the dialogues, the characters. like sometimes something about the way a character acted and their lines would leave me completely puzzled. if i had more faith in the writers i would have said they were trying to make future people act different and alien to us. but i don't, it just looks completely hamfisted. even tom jane is pretty dull. the sets and the cgi are lower quality than i was let to believe too.
/tv/ was creaming itself over this show but it's pretty underwhelming. i can understand why you'd find it impressive if you saw a sci-fi show that at least attempted to deal with realistic physics but i'm eh whatever about it. it kind of reminds me of altered carbon a bit, in the sense that it's a technically competent show with amateur acting and writing.
the only good parts imo are the soundtrack and the overarching plot. it's enough to keep me going for now but i probably wouldn't miss it if it got canceled.
oh and everyone is so fucking ugly holy shit.
