>>19169970That's what descendants of North European people do. We are curious, and will look everywhere we can get into. This also applies to technology, industry, and anywhere else in society. This is part of the creativity you find among us, and what makes us more innovative than most others. A part of that makes individuals among us wanting to crawl in places like that. And while I personally don't want to do that, then I respect the urge to do it.
To put it into perspective, in Israel they found the dead sea scrolls in 1942, in these caves. That picture is taken from the road people had traveled on since the scrolls were written! They were hidden in plain sight, but no one were curious enough to look.
While even the smallest most hidden of caves in Europe got names going back to when people settled in the area.
