About Trump's plan for huge tariffs on everything in his second term:
Trump 1.0 did nothing for the coal industry but helped oil and gas big time. Coal continued its now fifteen year decline during Trump's presidency. And imposing lots of tariffs will just lead to other countries not importing our coal, while exports are the only thing keeping U.S. coal alive right now.
So I can't get behind Trump's economic plan for his second term. Only if he vows to triple coal production will I back his economic plan, even if that just means dumping the coal in the ocean and not using it. We have to keep the coal miners employed and getting plenty of overtime by any means necessary, in my view.
