I’m 55, live near Paris and have bought a portable cooler (the mutttatrds call these ‘air conditioner’ because they call cold boxes ‘coolers’) for the first time a week ago
They’re not necessary around here except in offices
We have brick and stone walls, or even concrete. That’s what helps you handle heat waves.
Only the med coast uses coolers as a matter of course
