i was thinking about money and wealth, and just running up against a brick wall. money loses value, and things we consider wealth depreciate, break down. even gold, though it doesn't depreciate, simply holds its value. but that last word, value, there is something in that, a kind of richness worth desiring. and to me, value is something that gains with time, like watching your daughter grow up in front of your eyes, seeing the rewards of exercise or learning, turning resentment into endearment or hatred into forgiveness. tea itself, a core ingredient to my special posts, i think illustrates the concept of value. from a simple plant comes a miraculous brew when the right process is applied. so for today's special posts, i'm going to illustrate some of my core values, things i often begin my prayers with, that i concentrate on when doing my exercises, that i soothe myself with when things get difficult inside my own mind. so brew some tea and enjoy.
