>>20692089Robyn leaves, and finds a quieter part of the dojo to record her response to Ava. “Ava Mortis. You know, I almost started to think getting dropped on my head by you all those months ago was just an old nightmare but no, no that accent of yours, like nails on a chalkboard, is quite the revolting reminder that you are in fact a real person that exists.”
“You think I’m the same girl you met that day? Well go on, keep thinking that. You’ll be in for a nasty surprise if you do, because I’m the farthest thing from what I was that day.”
A look of determination crosses Robyn’s face. “Because since the day we last met I’ve known the terror of being duped into signing contracts to appear in videos that could have ruined my life. I’ve known the deepest depths of fear and desperation when fighting for my future against Kelly DiVanna in a steel cage.”
“But I’ve also known my first love. And through her I learned what it is to bear the pressure of not just fighting for myself, but for someone I loved more than anything. I’ve known what it is to reach the highest of highs with that person. And I’ve known what it felt like to lose by her side, to feel like I let her down. And now, I know what heartbreak feels like, to have everything fade away with no real knowledge as to why, but to be left with NOTHING to lose in the process.”
“The Robyn you once met has been forged by all of those things, Ava. But you?”
Robyn shakes her head.
“What have you done in that time Ava? I’ll tell you what. The same thing you’ve always done. Show up, fight for the hardcore title, win it or lose it, then disappear for a month or two until it’s time to repeat the cycle. You’ve been spinning your wheels in the same place for as long as you’ve been in this company, Ava. You’ve been static.”
Robyn points at the camera. “So you might THINK I’m the same girl I was before. But I KNOW you’re the same old predictable thug you’ve always been.”
“I’m ready for you.” Robyn ends the video.
