A life of atheism and nihilism has left me anxiety-ridden and hopeless. I see myself and people around me as intelligent apes walking around on a rock in space, and in the beginning that was cool and deep, but I'm approaching 30 and it's a depressing worldview to have. How do I get back to that hopefulness I had as a Christian child? Why depite all my prayers do I not feel Christ's presence in my life? Is it all a test?
