“That would be me. Cassie Kade.” She walks right up to Kiyoko, looking her over carefully. Based on what she had learned about her family from Lexi, this girl’s lack of green eyes meant she must be a very distant relative. But a relative nonetheless. And a deadly one. She could work with that. But she seemed unstable. Like mother, like Nikki. That could be a problem.
“You’re in no trouble with the Yakuza. The Tokyo Six and I have a positive working relationship, and they’re fully aware that having one of my clubs in their city could be a very lucrative venture for all of us. They wouldn’t jeopardise that by harming someone with my name.” She chuckles. “And I have no designs on your family’s bookstore.”
She crouches next to Kiyoko. “Truthfully, I want very little from you. By killing a cop, you’ve made your old life unsustainable. I’ve given you a second chance. In return, you’ll live it as a WWA wrestler. You’ll channel those violent urges of yours in the ring, you’ll refrain from killing cops or other wrestlers or anything else I’d have a hard time covering up, and you’ll go to the dojo and start as a trainee there.”
Cassie rises back to her full height. “I’ve overlooked that place. But Kanako spent time there, and she turned out to be a huge pain in the arse. You’ll be my eyes there from now on.”
She grabs Kiyoko by the collar and pulls her to her feet. “But understand this. Fail to abide by my terms, and just as suddenly as I’ve given you this life, I’ll end it. Deportation, if you’re lucky.”
Cassie releases her grip on Kiyoko. “Nod if you understand.” Then she smiles, though there is no warmth in her eyes. “And welcome to Spaghetti Town.”
