>>21751824>Whoops it turns out sci-fi writers never stopped dreaming and thought of way cooler things but you can't change the past so nobody thought of unmanned drones in the 50'sI'm open to the possibility of UFOs being related to aliens, the supernatural or something extraordinary, but this is a good point, if they are so advanced compared to us then they should be able to study us while maintaining complete invisibility, they should have navigation and observation technologies beyond our comprehension instead of being conveniently limited to stuff people in the 50s-60s could imagine.
One counter I can think of is that maybe they followed a very different technological path compared to us, i.e. they're way more advanced in some ways but more primitive in others, or they're only a few decades more advanced, so they're basically us with FTL and some extra stuff, they're not these unknowable eldritch gods, they're like the aliens you see in Mass Effect or Star Trek, technologically impressive but still close to us mentally.
