Invested aggressively in 401k every payday (index funds) increasing amount with each pay increase. Paid myself first every check no matter what. Paid down mortgage principle at the same time. Kept investing. Paid off mortgage. Kid was looking to move out. Bought rental property in area for him to live while he saves for his own place. 100% appreciation over 4 years. Bought another rental property in 2021. Huge cashflow plus 100% appreciation. Also work a side business flipping stuff on eBay and save/ invest all of that. Last 4 years investing about 65% of my income. Realized I could retire from a job I hated at age 54. Now I work part time, hump tradwife and shitpost. We do not spend much but feels good.
